"Flemoklav Solyutab" for children: instructions for use

Content

Choosing an antibiotic that helps eliminate an infectious disease, preference is given to means that act on many types of bacteria. One of these drugs is "Flemoklav Solyutab."

Release form and composition

The drug is represented by dispersible tablets, that is, it can dissolve when mixed with water, forming a suspension, which is why the word “solutyab” is present in the name of the medicine. The drug is released in the Netherlands in four different dosages:

  • 125 mg + 31.25 mg;
  • 250 mg + 62.5 mg;
  • 500 mg + 125 mg;
  • 875 mg + 125 mg.

The first digit in the specified dosage of the drug is the amount of amoxicillin, presented in the form of trihydrate. The second number is the amount of clavulanic acid, which is contained in the preparation in the form of potassium clavulanate.

In addition to these main components, the medicament contains crospovidone, saccharin, MCC, magnesium stearate, apricot flavoring and vanillin. The auxiliary components of tablets with a dosage of 875 mg + 125 mg are slightly different - dispersed cellulose is added to them, and instead of the apricot fragrance, this medicine contains lemon and mandarin flavors.

In terms of their appearance, all the variants of “Flemoklava Solyutab” are similar to each other, since they are oblong oval tablets of white or yellowish color, in the structure of which there are brown inclusions. There are no risks on the surface of the tablet, that is, its division into parts is not provided, however there is a logo of the manufacturer and a three-digit number that differs in tablets of different dosages (for example, on a drug with 125 mg of amoxicillin you can see the number 421).

All types of drugs, except for the drug with the highest dosage, are packaged in blisters of 4 pieces each and are sold in boxes of 20 tablets. As for "Flemoklava" with the content of amoxicillin in a dose of 875 mg, these tablets are sold for 14 pieces in a pack and 7 pieces in one blister.

Operating principle

Amoxicillinwhich is one of the main components of "Flemoklava", refers to penicillin antibiotics. He has a rather extensive spectrum of bactericidal (killing bacteria) effects on microbes that provoke infections of the respiratory tract, kidneys and other organs.

The presence of another active ingredient in tablets (clavulanic acid) helps amoxicillin to avoid destruction under the action of beta-lactamase - enzymes that are produced by certain strains of bacteria. Due to the combination with such an acid, the drug is effective against different types of staphylococci, enterococci, Listeria, bacteroids, clostridia, Escherichia, Proteus, Streptococci and other pathogens.

Indications

"Flemoklav Solyutab" is used in various diseases, including:

  • sinusitis;
  • otitis;
  • pharyngitis;
  • angina;
  • tracheitis;
  • bacterial pneumonia;
  • bronchitis;
  • scarlet fever;
  • skin infections;
  • pyelonephritis;
  • cystitis.

In addition, tablets with a dosage of 875 mg + 125 mg are prescribed for bacterial lesions of the joints and bones, as well as for gynecological infections.

From what age is appointed?

According to the annotations to the tablets, they can be given from 3 months of age.The use of babies in the first months of life is also possible, but only with serious indications and under the supervision of a doctor. Babies who are already three months old are also given medication only as prescribed by the doctor.

Tablets with the highest dose of amoxicillin are contraindicated until the age of 12, since the amount of antibiotic in this preparation (875 mg + 125 mg) is suitable only for patients with a weight greater than 40 kg.

Contraindications

The drug is not used in children with hypersensitivity to any of the components of the tablets, as well as with allergies to other penicillin or cephalosporin antibacterial drugs. It should also not be given to patients who have had liver function problems or jaundice in the past treated with a combination of amoxicillin and clavulanic acid.

"Flemoklav" is not used for lymphocytic leukemia and infectious mononucleosis, as well as for influenza and other viral infections. Tablets with the highest dosage are contraindicated in cases of severe renal impairment.

If the patient has any disease of the gastrointestinal tract, kidney or liver, the question of taking Flemoklav should be decided by the attending physician individually.

Side effects

Taking Flemoklava Solutab can sometimes cause a skin allergic reaction or negative symptoms of the gastrointestinal tract, such as vomiting or abdominal pain. In individual patients, tablets have a negative effect on the liver or blood formation. In addition, the drug can cause the development of candidiasis or superinfection.

Instructions for use

In order to prevent the negative impact of "Flemoklava Solyutab" on the stomach and intestines, taking the pill is recommended just before a meal. If the child can swallow it, then the drug is advised not to chew, and immediately drink water. However, the most frequent "childish" way of taking the medicine is its dissolution in water (30-100 ml).

After thorough mixing, the resulting syrup is given to the patient in a dose appropriate for age and weight. If the child is between 3 months and 12 years old, then 20-30 mg of amoxicillin is needed for 1 kg of the patient's body weight, and clavulanic acid requires from 5 to 7.5 mg. Often the drug is prescribed in such dosages:

  • a child weighing 5-12 kg (less than two years old) - twice a day, 125 mg + 31.25 mg;
  • a patient whose weight ranges from 13 to 25 kg (aged 2-7 years) - three times a day, 125 mg + 31.25 mg;
  • a child who weighs 25-37 kg (usually 7-12 years old) - three times a day, 250 mg + 62.5 mg;
  • a patient with a body weight greater than 40 kg - three times a day, 500 mg + 125 mg or twice a day in a dosage of 875 mg + 125 mg.

If the infection is severe, the indicated dosages can double, but the child should not receive more than 60 mg of amoxicillin per day for each kilogram of his weight, and for clavulanic acid the limit is 15 mg / kg.

The duration of use of "Flemoklava" should be determined based on the severity of the disease, but usually the course of therapy does not exceed two weeks.

Overdose

If a child accidentally takes "Flemoklav" in a much larger dose than the doctor prescribed, it will lead to vomiting, diarrhea or severe nausea, which in severe poisoning can cause dehydration and electrolyte imbalance. In such a situation, you need to give the child activated charcoal and rehydration solution, and then consult a doctor.

Interaction with other drugs

The absorption and effectiveness of "Flemoklav" affects the taking of antacids, aminoglycosides, laxative drugs, ascorbic acid or glucosamine. When combined with bacteriostatic drugs, the effect of the tablets weakens, and when supplemented with an antibiotic with a bactericidal effect, on the contrary, the effect of the drug will be stronger.

Do not combine "Flemoklav" with anticoagulants, diuretics, digoxin, methotrexate and some other drugs that can be seen in the annotation to the tablets.

Terms of sale

"Flemoklav Solyutab" refers to drugs that are sold by prescription, so before you buy pills, a medical examination is required. The cost of the drug depends on the dosage of its active substances. For example, for a pack of tablets containing 125 mg of amoxicillin, you need to pay from 260 to 300 rubles, and a package of medicine containing 250 mg of amoxicillin in each tablet costs about 400 rubles.

Storage conditions

The shelf life of dispersible tablets, with the exception of the drug with a dosage of 875 mg + 125 mg, is 3 years, but the drug with the highest dose of active substances is valid for 2 years from the date of manufacture. It is recommended to keep the medication at a temperature of up to +25 degrees, having chosen for this a dry place inaccessible to children.

Reviews

Most of the reviews that parents and doctors leave about “Flemoklav” are positive. The advantages of the drug are the possibility of use in infants, convenient dosage form and an extensive range of antibacterial effects. According to moms, taking Flemoklava Solyub helped quickly get rid of high fever, cough and other symptoms of infection.

Side effects of this treatment are rarely noted.. The disadvantages of the drug mainly include the high price and the large size of the tablets, which is somewhat inconvenient for children's use.

Analogs

If it became necessary to take in place of "Flemoklava Solyutab" another drug with the same active compounds in the composition, the doctor writes out:

  • Klamosar;
  • “Panklav 2X”;
  • EU Augmentin;
  • Augmentin CP;
  • Medoclav;
  • "Amoksivan" and others.

Such drugs are produced in powder form for the preparation of suspensions, dispersible tablets or coated tablets. Also, some of them are represented by an injection form - a powder, from which they make a solution for intravenous injections. All of them are used with the same indications as Flemoklav.

Instead of these drugs, the doctor may prescribe another penicillin or cephalosporin antibiotic, for example, "Zinnat», «Flemoxine Solutab" or "Suprax". If a patient is allergic to amoxicillin, antibiotics of other groups are prescribed, for example, “Sumamed», «Klacid», «Vilprafen" or "Macropene».

However, it is not recommended to give any antibacterial drugs to children without a medical examination.

Dr. Komarovsky will tell you about when antibiotics are really needed in the next video.
