Release form and composition

Operating principle
The drug is referred to as antihistamines, since cetirizine in its composition is capable of blocking H1 receptors sensitive to histamine.

In addition, under his influence cell migration is reduced, and the release of mediators of a late allergic reaction is suppressed. Such effects lead to a reduction in itching, rash, swelling, inflammation and other manifestations of allergy.
The drug is absorbed from the digestive tract very quickly, and after 30-60 minutes the amount of cetirizine in the blood becomes maximum. Most of the drug is bound to plasma proteins, but only a small amount of the drug is metabolized in the liver. The drug is removed mainly with urine.

Overdose
