The use of chlorophyllipt in the treatment of infants
Children face pathogenic bacteria every day, but in the first year of life their immunity is not yet strong enough to cope with the attack of microbes. And so babies can experience various infections. To eliminate them, it is often impossible to do without the use of antibiotics, but in some cases it can be limited to antiseptics, among which Chlorophyllipt is very popular.
Such a herbal medicine can affect bacteria, but does not harm the body of the crumbs, so it can be used from birth. Consider its properties and reasons for use in infants in more detail.
Features of the drug
In pharmacies, you can find several dosage forms "Chlorophyllipt", but only two of them are suitable for infants. The first is an alcohol solution with a concentration of 1%, which is represented by vials with a capacity of 25-100 ml. This medicine is transparent and has a green color.
The second form of the drug, which is also often prescribed to infants, is represented by a 2% oil-based solution. Such “Chlorofillipt” is packaged in bottles of 20-30 ml, also has a green color and smells of eucalyptus. The smell of the drug is due to its main ingredient - the eucalyptus spherical extract obtained from its leaves. In addition to it, in the oil solution there is only vegetable oil, which is usually sunflower.
The same extract is the main ingredient of the alcohol solution, and the auxiliary substance in this medicine, as the name implies, is represented by 96% ethyl alcohol. Due to the presence in the extract of chlorophylls and other substances, "Chlorophyllipt" is able to destroy pathogenic microbes (especially staphylococcus), which has been used by doctors for many years.
When is prescribed?
One of the common reasons for the use of "Chlorophyllipt" in newly born babies is the treatment of the umbilical wound. The absence of staining of the skin after lubrication, antimicrobial effect and safety for babies distinguishes this remedy from other antiseptics and antibacterial drugs.
For lubrication of the navel, an alcohol solution is used, which can also be used to treat the baby’s skin after mosquito bites, with prickles, when abrasions or scratches appear.
As for "Chlorofillipta" in oil, then in childhood this tool can be used in such situations:
- for skin treatment if it is burned or the wound does not heal for a long time;
- for instillation in the nose with cold and runny nose;
- for lubrication of the throat and inhalations, if the crumbs have tonsillitis or cough;
- for treating the oral cavity during stomatitis;
- for ingestion with staphylococcus in the intestine.
With all these indications, it is up to the doctor to prescribe the oil solution to a baby under one year old. It is unacceptable to give the drug to the infant or to drip into the spout on its own.
Instructions for use
The use of Chlorophyllipt depends on the reason for administering such a medicine.
- If the agent is indicated for the treatment of the umbilical wound, it is applied twice a day - first in the morning when hygiene procedures are performed, and a second time in the evening, after the baby is bought. Before smearing the alcoholic solution of the navel, it is treated with hydrogen peroxide to eliminate the crust. Next, with the help of a cotton swab, “Chlorophyllipt” is applied on the wound and allowed to dry for a while.
- If prickly heat is found in the crumbs, the affected areas are wiped with a cotton disc moistened in an alcoholic solution. This treatment is carried out from 2 to 4 times a day, diluting "Chlorophyllipt" before each procedure with plain water or saline.
- If there are scratches and other minor skin damage, as well as insect bites, you should apply a chlorophyllipt on a alcohol-based point on the affected areas. The treatment is performed several times a day until the skin heals.
- When using the medicine in the nose, the nasal passages are first cleaned, for example, using an aspirator or a saline instillation. Then, in each nostril, one drop of oily “Chlorophyllipt” is injected as often as prescribed by the ENT doctor.
- If a baby has a sore throat or another throat lesion, it is recommended to moisten a cotton swab with “Chlorophyllipt” in oil and treat the tonsils 2 times a day. If it is impossible to carry out such a manipulation, which usually requires two adults at once, you can drip a few drops of the solution into the mouth of the child, trying to get on the back of the tongue.
- For thrush in the mouth or gingivitis, the oil solution is applied to a gauze swab or cotton swab, after which the mucous membrane is spotted (only the inflamed areas). If the doctor prescribed to take "Chlorofillipt" inside, the product is diluted with my mother's milk or water and given to the baby in the dosage that the specialist has determined for a particular small patient. In some cases, enemas are also used.
Possible harm
In the treatment of "Chlorofillipt" in some babies, judging by the parents, an allergic reaction develops.
To identify the intolerance of the baby, before using the solution, it is necessary to make a test for sensitivity. It involves the ingestion of a few drops of the oil solution or the lubrication of a small area of the skin with an alcohol solution. In the absence of puffiness, redness or rash, the further use of Chlorophyllipt is permitted.
The drug does not cause other negative effects, therefore, hypersensitivity is the only contraindication.
According to the doctors, it is a harmless and effective remedy, but it should be used carefully in infants and only if indicated. So says the popular doctor Komarovsky. Read more about oil drops in the next video.
