Spray "Chlorofillipt" for children: instructions for use
For various diseases of the throat and oral cavity, local vegetable-based remedies are often used. One of them is "Chlorophyllipt". Such a drug is usually found in pharmacies in the form of an oil or alcohol solution. It is often prescribed for the treatment of the navel in a newborn, and drip in the nose with a cold. The drug is very popular for prickly heat, sore throat, stomatitis and other diseases.
If the patient has a sore throat, it is usually recommended to rinse it with a diluted alcohol solution or lubricate with a cotton swab dipped in an oil composition. But for more convenience, many manufacturers began to produce spray "Chlorophyllipt", which allows you to easily handle the tonsils and other parts of the oropharynx.
Features of the drug
"Chlorophyllipt" in the form of a spray is produced by several manufacturers. These are bottles of 15 or 45 ml of a solution with a characteristic eucalyptus smell, to which a spray nozzle is attached separately (it is put on the bottle at the beginning of use).
The basis of the drug is an extract for the manufacture of which take the leaves of eucalyptus. It contains various active substances (especially many chlorophylls), due to which the extract has a strong antimicrobial effect. It is especially noticeable in relation to staphylococci, and since these bacteria very often provoke an inflammatory process in the throat, Chlorophyllipt is very popular for various infections of the oropharynx.
Auxiliary ingredients in different sprays are different, so they need to be specified on the box of the purchased medicine. Among them are glycerol, ethanol, sodium benzoate and other compounds. In addition, in the spray "Vialayn" there are other plant extracts: from nettle, dubrovnik, wormwood and St. John's wort. They enhance the anti-inflammatory effect of eucalyptus.
Is it possible for children?
In the annotation to the spray of some manufacturers noted that the experience of using "Chlorophyllipt" in children is absent, while in others the children's age is indicated in contraindications. But in practice, otolaryngologists often prescribe this form of medicine for children 3-4 years old or older., because it is difficult for small patients to gargle properly and uncomfortably tolerate lubrication with an oil solution.
However, the use of spray in babies without a doctor's prescription is not worth it.
Indications
The reason for the use of "Chlorophyllipt" in this form in children is most often angina, laryngitis, stomatitis, pharyngitis and other diseases of the oropharynx. It is also permissible to apply the spray locally on damaged skin, for example, with scratches or after burns.
Possible harm
When using "Chlorofillipta" some patients may be allergic to its components. By the way, it is the only contraindication for such a drug. Its signs are rashes on the skin, redness at the treatment site, swelling of the mucous membrane, tearing. If these symptoms are identified, further treatment with the spray should be immediately abandoned.
In order to determine in advance whether the child is allergic to the ingredients of the solution, it is recommended to conduct a test prior to the start of therapy, after treating a small area of skin or mucous membrane with the preparation. If no negative reactions follow, use the spray as prescribed by the doctor.
Instructions for use
The treatment regimen for sputum diseases of the oropharynx should be clarified with the doctor, as sometimes the drug is used twice a day, but in many cases the throat has to be processed more often - 3-4 times a day. Spraying is necessarily carried out after a meal. Having installed the nozzle on the bottle, its end is sent to the patient's throat, and then pressed twice so that the medicine falls directly on the inflamed tissue. After treatment, it is not recommended to drink anything or eat at least 20-30 minutes.
If the spray is prescribed for skin diseases, it is applied to a gauze swab, which is then applied to the affected area for 15–20 minutes. Such applications are recommended to be done twice a day. The duration of use of "Chlorophyllipt" depends on the disease, but most often the remedy is sprayed for 3-4 days until the symptoms of the infection subside.
Purchase and storage
It is possible to buy “Chlorofillipt” in the form of a spray in a pharmacy without any difficulties, because it is a non-prescription drug. Its price depends on the manufacturer, for example, Vialine spray costs an average of 200-250 rubles.
Keep the drug at home should be at a temperature of +5 to +25 degrees, putting the bottle in the place hidden from the kids. Shelf life of the drug is 2-3 years. It needs to be clarified on the box in order not to accidentally begin to apply expired means.
Reviews
The use of the spray is mostly positive, noting the rapid effect of such a medicine for sore throat and other unpleasant symptoms. The advantages of the drug also include its plant base, affordable price and ease of use. The taste of the drug is often referred to as pleasant and nonresistant.
As for the drawbacks, many parents do not like the composition of such a “Chlorophyllipt”, because, compared with solutions, there are many auxiliary substances in it (in other liquid forms, in addition to plant extract, there is only oil or alcohol). In addition, the disadvantages include the high risk of an allergic reaction.
