"Espumizan" during pregnancy: instructions for use

Content

With such an uncomfortable phenomenon, like flatulence, many pregnant women face. In the early stages, this symptom occurs due to an imbalance of hormones, changes in the work of the gastrointestinal tract and a decrease in the activity of the pancreas. Later, the enlarged uterus begins to put pressure on the intestines, which affects its motor skills and also often provokes swelling. To cope with such a delicate problem, you can use a medicine from the well-known German company Berlin-Chemie called "Espumizan".

Features of the drug

The basis of the drug is simethicone, which has the ability to neutralize the gases accumulated in the intestine. Due to the enveloping of gas bubbles with this surface-active substance, their envelope is destroyed, which contributes to the rapid elimination of gases from the intestine, elimination of discomfort and colic. At the same time, simethicone is not absorbed into the intestinal wall and leaves the digestive tract unchanged.

In order for the patient to choose the most convenient drug for him, Espumizan is produced in several forms.

  • Capsulesin which the yellow round gelatin shell and viscous colorless liquid contents. Each such capsule contains 40 mg of simethicone. The drug is sold in blisters of 25 pieces, and one pack includes 1, 2 or 4 blisters. Of the excipients in the composition of such "Espumizana" are glycerol, methylparaben, yellow dyes and gelatin. The average price of 25 capsules is 240-280 rubles.
  • Emulsion In this form, two drugs are available at once. One of these is a medicine called Espumizan 40. It is almost colorless turbid fruit liquid containing 40 mg of simethicone in one scoop (5 ml). This drug is sold in bottles with a capacity of 100 ml and costs about 400 rubles. The second medicine is called Espumizan L and is a milky white, viscous liquid with a banana smell. The dosage of simethicone in such an emulsion is higher and amounts to 40 mg per 1 ml, which corresponds to 25 drops. The drug is poured into 30 ml vials that have a dropper tube and a measuring cap. Its average price in pharmacies is 300-320 rubles.
  • Drops "Espumizan Baby." This drug is similar in its characteristics to "Espumizan L", but the concentration of the active substance in this solution is higher - 100 mg in 1 milliliter. For one bottle with a capacity of 30 ml you need to pay 340-400 rubles.
  • Granulespackaged in sachets of aluminum foil. They have irregular shape, white color and lemon flavor. One sachet contains 125 mg of simethicone supplemented with malic acid, talc, flavors and sorbitol. In one pack sell 14 or 28 bags. Packaging less costs an average of 300 rubles.

All forms of "Espumizana" can be freely purchased at pharmacies, as they are non-prescription drugs. Store these preparations at home should be at a temperature not higher than +30 degrees, putting the packaging in a place inaccessible to kids. Shelf life of capsules and granules - 3 years.

Drops and emulsion can also be stored for three years from the date of manufacture, but after opening - no longer than 6 months.

Are pregnant women using?

According to the instructions for all forms of "Espumizana" and the reviews of doctors, such medicines are harmless to women in the position and have no effect on the infant in the womb. Since the active component of "Espumizana" is not absorbed and does not penetrate into the blood, its effect on the fetus is excluded. This allows you to safely use this medicine in the second and third trimesters, when many drugs are allowed for pregnant women, and in the first trimester, when most drugs are not recommended.

"Espumizan" is in demand for abdominal distention and discomfort in the intestinal area. Its active ingredient helps to get rid of arching pains that have arisen due to the increased formation of gases. However, this tool is used not only in flatulence, but also in case of some poisonings (for example, with detergents), as well as in preparation for the examination of internal organs, in order to increase its effectiveness.

Doctors say such benefits "Espumizana" for expectant mothers:

  • the tool quickly eliminates abdominal discomfort and helps with intestinal motility disorders associated with uterine growth;
  • as a part of capsules, granules and drops there is no sugar, therefore all forms of medication can be prescribed for pregnant women with diabetes or overweight;
  • the drug is safe for any period of gestation;
  • he provides quick help if there is dysfunction of the gastrointestinal tract;
  • if necessary, "Espumizan" can be appointed for a long period.

As for the tolerability of the drug, in most cases it is good, and side effects from such a drug are very rare. This is usually an allergic reaction to the components of "Espumizana" in the form of a rash, itching, runny nose and other symptoms. When they appear, the reception should be stopped immediately, and in the future, the use of such a tool will have to be abandoned.

The use of "Espumizana" usually does not affect the digestive function, although in some reviews pregnant women have noted problems with emptying during treatment. And although doctors do not associate this problem with taking capsules, drops or granules, but with the appearance of constipation or diarrhea, an analogue is often selected.

Note also that the incompatibility with other drugs (tablets, capsules, syrups, and so on) in "Espumizana" is not noted. And therefore, the use of such a medicine for bloating will not affect the use of any other medications that the expectant mother is already taking.

Contraindications

Taking the medicine is prohibited:

  • if the woman has hypersensitivity to simethicone or any inactive component of Espumizan, given the form of the drug used;
  • if the examination revealed intestinal obstruction, or there is a possibility of such a pathology.

How to use?

"Espumizan" is recommended to be taken 3 to 5 times a day after meals or with meals. If necessary, one of the techniques of the medication is performed at night. When using liquid forms, shake the medicine before each use.

The duration of treatment is influenced by the severity of symptoms - as soon as the condition improves, Espumizan is canceled.

A single dosage of medication is advisable to check with your doctor, but in most cases, Espumizan is taken as follows:

  • capsules are swallowed in two pieces, washed down with a small amount of water;
  • the drug "Baby" is prescribed for 20 drops per reception;
  • emulsion "Espumizan L" you need to drink 50 drops, which corresponds to 2 ml of the drug and a dosage of 80 mg;
  • means "Espumizan 40" take 2 measuring spoons;
  • Pellets from one sachet are poured onto the tongue and swallowed (they can be washed down with water).

If the drug is prescribed before the examination or in case of poisoning, the dose of the drug is selected individually.

What to replace?

Instead of “Espumizana”, the expectant mother can use analogues of such a drug, whose action is also provided with simethicone.

  • Antiflat Lannaher - Austrian drug in the form of a suspension, which contains 41.2 mg of the active substance per 1 ml of the drug.
  • "Bobotik" - product of the Russian company Akrikhin in the form of drops. Each milliliter of this drug contains slightly more than 66 mg of simethicone.
  • "Sab Simplex" - medicine from the famous manufacturer Pfizer. It is represented by a fruit suspension containing almost 70 mg of the active substance in 1 ml.

It is also important to pay attention to the prevention of flatulence and intestinal colic during childbirth. To prevent such problems in the later periods, you can use more frequent meals and reduce portions.

In addition, women in position are advised to exclude fried foods, pastry, and fatty foods from the menu.

The future mother should avoid large portions of legumes or cabbage, since these products often provoke the accumulation of gases in the intestinal lumen.

If such recommendations are observed, the negative effect on digestion will be reduced, which will allow to avoid taking Espumizan and its analogues.

findings

Carminatives such as Espumizan are permitted during pregnancy. A future mother can take this medicine at any time, without worrying about the fact that the active components will affect the development and health of the baby in the womb. But in order to choose the most convenient form and determine the optimal dosage, the expectant mother should consult her doctor before taking the drug.

In the first months of gestation, "Espumizan" effectively reduces flatulence, triggered by hormonal changes, and also alleviates the condition of the expectant mother during early toxemia. In the third trimester, when the uterus, due to its increased size, interferes with the natural removal of gases, Espumizan eliminates this problem gently and in most cases without any side effect.
