Composition and principle of operation
“Relief” preparations contain the main active ingredient “phenylephrine hydrochloride” and shark liver oil, because of this, both ointment and rectal suppositories have a faint, characteristic fish odor.
The composition of "Relief Advance" introduced benzocaine anesthetic. Phenylephrine narrows the blood vessels locally, which reduces swelling and itching in the anus. Shark liver oil has a pronounced wound-healing effect, which can be very useful if anal fissures form and there is puffiness.
If the manifestations of hemorrhoids are accompanied by a fairly strong pain syndrome, it is better to use the drug with the Advance prefix in the title, because benzocaine quickly relieves pain and does not penetrate into the systemic circulation.
As part of this type of drug is also available shark oiltherefore, it is possible to achieve not only the analgesic effect, but also promote healing of the inflamed areas of the rectum.
