As soon as the baby reaches the age when it is time to start feeding gradually, the question arises how to make the feeding procedure as convenient as possible not only for the child, but also for his mother. A special highchair, which is usually quite simple, can help in this. Parents are often meticulous about the choice, initially discarding unfamiliar brands as unworthy of attention, which is not always fair. Let's try to consider the products of one of these brands - Amalfy highchair.

The future of this brand, despite a rather beautiful story, seems rather vague. Residents of St. Petersburg and Moscow still have to remember a network of children's stores under brands. "Children" and "Healthy Baby". The project was launched in 1997, and in less than two decades, the company achieved tremendous success by reselling various children's products from other suppliers and opening up more and more new points, expanding to a couple of hundred stores at its peak.

The success was so obvious that the company, reaching an annual turnover of a couple of tens of billions of rubles, created its own brand Amalfy several years ago, under which it produced not only high chairs, but also strollers, car seats, playpens, rocking chairs, backpacks - Kangaroo, and many other products for children.

Amazingly, but so successful and a big company has developed, like a house of cards, in the blink of an eye. In 2014, messages began to appear about the conflict between the three founders of the network, as a result of which it completely ceased to exist - the last store closed in spring 2017.

The exact fate of the production facilities at which Amalfy branded products were manufactured remains unknown, but as of the winter of 2018, some new models of children's products of this brand can still be found on sale from other retailers.

Apparently, in the last couple of years, the model range of this brand has changed quite quickly, but in general, you can expect to find at least one of the six models, which we study more closely:

• GB-008. This model is found in third-party retailers much more frequently than others and is a kind of basic standard for this manufacturer. This chair is designed for a child aged 6-36 months, is properly regulated in all possible positions, has wheels and the ability to fold to a compact size for easy transportation. The cover can be removed and washed.

• Savanna. Another common model is a significant improvement of the previous version. In particular, it allows for a greater number of fixed seating positions, as well as adjustment of the tray table, which, by the way, are complete for two, for ease of caring for them without interrupting regular meals. Of the pleasant bonuses - a special pocket on the back, and the wheels are made of silent silicone.

• Yunga. Extremely primitive (but also cheap) construction, which in its innocent simplicity will overtake any competitors you like. All transformation possibilities are limited by the ability to fold the product, slightly resembling a cot, for transportation, as well as the option to remove the table top, whereas neither the height of the seat nor the backrest is adjustable at all. The only advantage is the high sides of the tabletop, protecting the child from spilled liquids.

• Frosch. This design has two global differences from all the others.Firstly, it is completely plastic, that is, it does not contain metal parts at all, although this does not affect the strength. Secondly, it is the only transformer of this brand, which, if necessary, turns into a chair with a separate table. The product has no other significant advantages - it doesn’t even have wheels.

• Luna. Of the models that are often found today, it is definitely the best among the budget Amalfy highchairs. It is distinguished by a good compactness, it is equipped with a special basket for toys, and the design seems to be more modern, but this is where the advantages end.

• Kapitan. In terms of the availability of facilities and bonuses, this model looks somewhat better than the primitive “Jung”, but still lags behind the slightly more advanced “Moon”. In general, it differs only in another, somewhat more “childish” design.

In fact, it is not often that you encounter such a criticized brand as Amalfy - it seems that people write reviews about its products only if they want to complain about the product.

Another thing is that the brand’s products are fiercely criticized for their bulky size and unsuccessful assembly, which is why the chair gets dirty quickly and is difficult to clean. It is noted that fasteners require periodic maintenance by dad, otherwise the product begins to unsteady dangerously. Many believe that such a product is simply not worth the money.
