Combined wallpaper for the children's room

Repair in the nursery does not have to be a boring procedure - it can be turned into an interesting creative process. It is enough to paste over the walls with not one kind of wallpaper, but at least two - then the result can surpass even the most optimistic expectations.

There are several reasons why the idea to combine different types of wallpaper is not just interesting, but ingenious. The reasons for choosing a combination of wallpaper can be the advantages of the finished result:

• You have two children, but the children's room is only one, because of what the kids are deprived of their own corner? "Break" the room in half with wallpaper - and personal zones will appear, and you will be able to please everyone's tastes.

• Nice for relaxing gentle tones, for work - more stringent solutions, but to play better among bright highlights. What to choose for the nursery, in which even one child needs all this palette at once? All together - divide the room into zones!
• Is one of the walls a curve? Highlight the opposite wall - then all eyes will be turned to it.
• Remained wallpaper from repair in other rooms? Do not throw away - use them in combination to create an unusual design.

Combine the wallpaper you need at least so that the room does not look too banal. It is also a great way out if you can’t pick one kind of wallpaper. The only thing that could be called a minus of combination is that not everyone will be able to do it, and the end result may be more disappointing than please.

There are at least seven ways of combining wallpaper, each of which is used with a specific purpose and gives an effect unlike any other way:

• Vertical combination "Raises" the ceiling and allows you not to break your head over the pattern docking and the wallpaper itself. When using three or more different types, limit to only one wall, otherwise the room will ruffle in the eyes.

• Horizontal combination - This is a classic, it allows you to visually enlarge the room, but makes the ceiling more "low". Through the use of borders, it is permissible to combine wallpaper of different thickness and texture, but below they usually glue dark shades, and at the top - light ones. This solution is not suitable for accents, it is designed for the whole room.

• Focus on the wall, niche, ledge. It is made with the help of bright wallpaper, contrasting with the relatively quiet decoration of the room as a whole. If the accent is darker, the wall as if moves away, and vice versa.
• Panno. When the extra wallpaper left a little, make a “picture” of them on the wall, adjusting the resulting canvas with moldings or borders.

• Combination with the ceiling. When pasting the ceiling as well, highlight it with a separate color so that it is different from the walls.
• Patchwork. A very stylish result is obtained if one focuses on one of the walls, decorating it with patches of many types of wallpaper in a cell or in any other complex geometric pattern.
• "Warp" room. If the room is planned somewhat unsuccessfully, correct it by choosing two types of wallpaper. Light tones, as it were, bring the surface closer, while the dark ones are alienated; paste over the ends with the shades that will give the desired effect.

The combination of different textures and materials within the same room is possible, but to achieve a good result is problematic due to differences in thickness. You can solve the problem in two ways - either not to glue the wallpaper of different thickness on one wall, highlighting one wall or ceiling entirely, or to cover the joints with wallpaper border. The second option is only available with a horizontal combination or when creating a panel.

Wall-paper of a natural origin - bamboo and pith - is well combined with the invoice of any other wall-paper. The same can be said about the chalk wallpaper, but the simpler options such as paper, non-woven, vinyl are combined only without visible joints.

The most important thing when choosing wallpaper for combination is to remember that combining wallpapers may look completely different, but at least one of the factors should combine them either according to the principle of similarity, or according to the principle of opposites.

Among such factors are color, pattern, texture. As for the principles of combination, they look like this:

• Best match wallpaper of the same color, but with a different pattern or decorated in related, albeit in different shades - like pink and cream or green and light green.
• It looks good contrast combination, first of all - white with black, as well as other pronounced contrasts.
• To highlight emphasis a combination of a monochromatic coating with a variegated one is used, but then the main tone of the first should be present in the second palette.
• Interesting and unusual looks a combination of different, but somewhat similar patterns, for example, different floral prints of the same size and shade or, on the contrary, of a similar shape, but with a slightly different color range.

There are standard options that are considered generally accepted by girls or, conversely, boyish ones.

For girls, they usually choose gentle combinations that emphasize the romance of nature. Eternal classics are lilac, purple and creamy, it is worth mentioning the combinations of different shades of pink.

The most popular combination for boys is what provides the marine style so beloved by parents of sons - blue, white and red. Since the boys are hunters, they should like the colors of the forest (green and brown with yellow) or savanna (sand and yellow with orange).

All of the above can be supplemented with a few more simple tips that will allow you to achieve an interesting result without wagging your head:

• Between themselves best are combined monophonic or relatively neutral coating with an expressive, but simple pattern - a strip or a cell, in a diamond or polka-dot.
• Colors finish significantly affects the character of the child - the bright colors of his excite, and calm - respectively, calm. For this reason, wallpaper is usually chosen according to the opposite nature of the baby.

• South-facing roomsThey are distinguished by bright natural light and warm up better, so there they often glue wallpapers of cold colors. With those rooms, whose windows face north, things are exactly the opposite.
• If the room is small, and it needs to be visually enlarged, it is better to glue it with light wallpaper, and when choosing a picture, focus on smaller elements, which fit a lot even on a small wall. Too spacious room is narrowed due to darker tones and large figures.

The first example is a vivid demonstration of many combination principles at once.Here both are horizontal, with division using a border, and vertical (at the bottom) combination. The bottom is made of plain, albeit colored, strips of spring gamma, and the top is decorated with a simple pattern of butterflies. The background of the top echoes the pink stripes below, which makes the interior holistic.

A very bright accent is obtained if all walls are made completely monochromatic, and one is highlighted with an image, for example, a flower composition, as in the second photo.

Even if a rather complicated picture is chosen for the decoration of an accent, which significantly exceeds any pattern in detail, it is still possible to single out one or several basic tones there - in their scale and paste over the room.
