How to cook porridge with milk?
For children older than a year, take 1/2 cup of millet and 200-250 ml of milk. Pour the cereal into boiled milk and cook over low heat until the millet melts. Add sugar to taste in porridge. If the dish is intended for a one-year-old child, you can also add fruit puree to this gruel. For children older than 1.5 years, porridge can be served with pumpkin, fruit pieces, steamed raisins or berries.
You can cook milk millet porridge in a slow cooker. Depending on the volume of milk, the dish can be liquid, viscous or crumbly. When cooking milk in such a device, the milk does not “run away”, and the finished porridge can be kept warm for the required time. Millet soup with prunes (from 1.5 years)

Soak prunes for several hours, clean the seeds and cook in a small amount of water, where you should add sugar. Serve this soup advised chilled by adding a spoonful of sour cream.
Millet casserole with raisins (from 3 years)
For this dish you will need 100 g of millet, 400 ml of milk, 20 g of raisins, one egg, 2 tsp of sugar and 1 tsp of sour cream. From millet and milk cook porridge until cooked. After letting it cool slightly, add a raw egg, sugar and washed raisins. After mixing the ingredients, place them in an oiled mold. Smear the future casserole with sour cream on top and send to the oven until golden brown.
How to choose millet for baby food?
When buying millet, from which the porridge will steal for a child, you should carefully consider the seeds and ask about the expiration dates. It is advisable to buy millet for children in a transparent package, as the cereals are by weight exposed to various external factors, which can deteriorate or lose useful substances. Choose millet with a matte surface, bright yellow color, without garbage.
It is not advisable to keep millet at home for a long time, because of the oxidation of fats, stale cereals start to taste bitter. Keep grains in an airtight container in a cool place away from sources of moisture.
