Broncho-munal P for children: instructions for use

If a child often has rhinitis, bronchitis or other diseases of the respiratory system, the doctor may recommend strengthening the body's defenses with a medication called Broncho-munal P. It differs from the usual “Broncho-munala” in half the dosage of active substances, therefore it can be prescribed in infants, even in infants. Features of the form of release and composition

The drug is manufactured by the well-known company Sandoz only in capsules packed in blisters of 10 pieces. One package includes 1 or 3 such blisters, and the capsules themselves have an opaque gelatin shell and size 3. The body of the capsules is white, the cap is blue, and inside is a beige powder.

The main ingredient of this powder is the lysates of microorganisms, presented in a dosage of 3.5 mg in one capsule. In the structure of "Broncho-munala P" there are such destroyed bacteria:

  • haemophilus sticks;
  • Streptococcus viridans;
  • pneumococci;
  • pyogenic streptococci;
  • Staphylococcus aureus;
  • Klebsiella ozena and pneumonia;
  • Moraxella cataris.

Inactive substances such as monosodium glutamate, starch and propyl gallate, as well as mannitol and magnesium stearate are added to them. The capsule shell is made of titanium dioxide, indigotin and gelatin.

How does it work?

The drug belongs to the immunostimulants, because under its influence activates the immune system of the patient. Lysates that enter the body penetrate the mucous membrane and affect B-lymphocytes. After increasing their amount in the blood, the production of antibodies is enhanced, and immunoglobulins are more actively synthesized. Lysates also affect immunity, called nonspecific. The result of the application of "Broncho-munala P" will be:

  • reducing the frequency of SARS;
  • reducing the duration of infection of the respiratory system;
  • reducing the risk of exacerbations in chronic pathologies of the bronchi;
  • increasing the resistance of the respiratory tract to pathogens;
  • reducing the need for antibiotics and other drugs.

Indications

Since the components of "Broncho-munala P" are the causative agents of respiratory infections, the effect of the drug and concerns mainly the pathologies of the respiratory system. Capsules include the complex treatment of bronchitis, sinusitis, adenoiditis, rhinitis and other diseases. They are also often advised to take for prevention, for example, in children with chronic recurrent infections of the bronchi.

From what age is prescribed?

"Broncho-munal P" is intended for use in children, so you can see the mark "for children" on the box of capsules. The dosage of such capsules is suitable for young patients over 6 months to twelve years of age.

Teenagers over 12 years old are prescribed a drug without the letter “P” in the title, containing 7 mg of lysates in one capsule.

Contraindications

The drug is not used if the child has an intolerance to any of the components of the capsules. Broncho-munala P has no other contraindications, except for early age and hypersensitivity.

Side effects

Usually, Bronchomunal P is tolerated without any negative symptoms, however, in some small patients, after taking the capsules, diarrhea or abdominal discomfort may appear.Sometimes the medication causes nausea, an allergic rash, headache or cough.

In some cases, the drug causes shortness of breath, vomiting, fever, angioedema, redness of the skin and other symptoms.

Instructions for use

The capsule is recommended to give the child in the morning half an hour before breakfast (the remedy works best when used on an empty stomach). The standard dosage for both prevention and treatment is one capsule. If the baby still does not know how to swallow solid forms of the preparations, the gelatinous shell is opened, after which the powder is mixed with juice, milk or tea. The liquid is taken in a small amount so that the crumb immediately swallowed it.

If “Broncho-munal P” is prescribed for preventive purposes, then the remedy is given in three courses, each of which lasts 10 days. Between courses should be paused in 20 days. If the medicine is included in the complex treatment of acute bronchitis or another infection, then it is given until complete cure, but not less than ten days.

Overdose and drug interactions

According to the manufacturer, there were no cases of intoxication after taking too large a dose of “Broncho-munala P”. On the incompatibility of capsules with other drugs, too, no data. The drug can be used with any other medicines, including antibiotics.

    In addition, choosing Bronho-Vaks as an analogue, it is important not to confuse it with the drug for adults, which is a complete analogue of Broncho-munala and contains lysates in a dose of 7 mg.

    Both of these drugs can also be replaced by other drugs that act on the immune system by the same mechanism and contain destroyed bacteria or parts of them. These tools include:
