Domestic strollers: a review of the best manufacturers
Faced with the question of choosing a baby carriage, more and more families in Russia prefer to purchase domestically produced goods. This decision is both patriotic and justified in terms of saving the family budget. And our review will help you choose the best of the Russian manufacturers.
Who produces Russian-made strollers?
During Soviet times, the market for foreign firms was for the most part closed, and almost all of the goods for children in the country were produced by many factories of Soviet light industry. The collapse of the Union, the fall of the Iron Curtain and the subsequent economic crisis dramatically changed the situation and today in Russia there are only a few large manufacturers of wheelchairs for children, namely:
- Votkinsk Industrial Company from Votkinsk, part of the Topol group of companies;
- JSC PKP "Apex", whose power is located in Dubna;
- Ekaterinburg Stack Ural Factory;
- the company "Little Treck" from the suburban town of Mytishchi.
Products "Votkinsk industrial company"
Once Votkinsk carriages were almost in every Soviet family. Now the situation for the Udmurt company has changed dramatically, and it has to be content with a very modest market share. At the same time, the company has long froze the development and production of its own models and is now engaged in only a screwdriver assembly of products from China and Poland.
The company's products are manufactured under the “Fairy” and “Selby” brands, and the total range offered on the official website includes 11 types of wheelchairs. All of them belong to the walking type, so if you need a transforming model, a cradle or a transport for twins, then you should pay your attention to other manufacturers.
If you are looking for a walking stroller that is lightweight and safe for your child, then pay attention to the Selby NS-112 model. And for those who are not afraid of 13 kg of weight, you can advise a real jeep in the world of children's transport - Selby SS-202 with solid 30-cm pneumatic wheels.
Products company "Apex"
Dubninsk carriages were produced from the mid-50s of the 20th century, but in Soviet times they did not even succeed in approaching the popularity of wheelchairs from Udmurtia. But now "Apex" - the sole leader among Russian producers, which resigned to the mark of 60% of all sales of Russian wheelchairs. Such a solid result is also surprising because the company produces only three main models - two classic (“Classic” and “Lira”) and one transforming model “Hummingbird”.
Despite the name, “Classic” is very unorthodox, because it combines the usual design and innovative technologies like two interchangeable bodies from eco-leather (winter and summer) and powder coating chassis. In fact, this model is a base model that can be transformed at will, for example, changing inflatable wheels to plastic ones and installing a rain cover or mosquito net. "Lira" is also made on the principle of "2 in 1", the cradle in it, if necessary, is replaced by a recreational body. Finally, the "Hummingbird" will pass on any ground at any time of the year, while maintaining its smooth progress.
Products of the factory "Stack Ural"
Of all the Russian manufacturers of children's goods, it was the company “Stack” that suffered the most from the crisis events of recent years.Focusing on the quality of their products to the detriment of the assortment and budget, the Urals people eventually lost a large market segment. It seems that the management of the company did not draw any conclusions from this. To this day, the basis of the model range of the Yekaterinburg factory are transformer carriages costing from 7 to 8 thousand rubles with purely cosmetic differences.
Reliability for the factory "Stack" remains the main priority, so the frames of all models are made exclusively of steel, and not lighter materials. The company's products are assembled from both domestic and imported parts.
The company's official website contains certificates of conformity and quality for all offered baby carriages, so the carriages from Stack can be advised to anyone who wants to be sure of the safety of their baby 100%.
Baby carriages from "Little Treck"
Mytishchenskaya company - the youngest among all presented in this review. Perhaps it was youth and fresh ideas that helped her to press her competitors and win back as much as 20% of the market. The main difference of the “Little Treck” philosophy is the desire for an optimal combination of “price-quality”. As part of this concept, a Moscow-based firm completely abandoned the release of transformers and offers only two basic models - a stroller for infants with a solid basket and “2 in 1” with an aluminum frame and inflatable wheels. All products of the company are trimmed with cotton fabric with synthetic padding.
Another secret to the success of “Little Treck” is that, in addition to selling the actual transport for children, the company actively promotes sales of various parts, accessories and replacement parts for its products.
As a result, of only two models proposed by the company, each family can assemble for itself an optimal design, ideally adapted specifically for its needs.
