Strollers for triplets: a review of models and tips on choosing

The appearance of replenishment in the family is always not only joy, but also a huge responsibility. When triplets are expected to be born, parents will have to think a lot about how to arrange the location of the kids, and if in a spacious apartment this problem is solved quite easily, then for walks, you will probably need a special stroller for triplets.

You can, of course, get by with three “single” strollers or one standard and one for twins, but then such an exit would require at least two adults, which is not always possible.

The "book" resembles the standard strollers for twins, however, there are not two, but two sleeping places. If necessary, the design is easy to fold, becoming almost flat, so this type is usually recommended for parents who love to get out somewhere by car and do not want to give up their habits even after the birth of triplets.

The advantages of this model will appeal to many:

• each child has a wide place that allows you not to feel squeezed;
• like a single stroller, this one has a basket under each place for the necessary trifles, so you should not take extra bags or packages with you for a walk or to the store;
• the model easily folds and unfolds, and when folded it fits perfectly into a car or elevator, although children will have to be put somewhere for this time;
• large rear wheels allow you to drive through any terrain without much shaking, and the ability to rotate the front wheels makes control as accurate as possible;
• over each seat there is a cape that can protect the child from the rain.

The shortcomings of the “books”, although few, are decisive for some people. For example, in the unfolded form, such a stroller is very wide, it simply will not pass through most doors, so if nobody accompanies mom on a walk, and the children themselves are not yet able to walk, then the transport will be impractical. In addition, the size of the product is very negative for its weight. Children here are located only in the supine position, they will not be able to sit down.

The “cane” is very similar to the “book”, with the global difference that here children are on the contrary - they don’t lie, they just sit. Such a model is also considered suitable for traveling, with almost identical advantages and disadvantages; however, their wheels are usually somewhat smaller, which increases the quality requirements for roads.

It is not at all necessary for children to be located on the side of each other during their walks - there is a carriage design that presupposes the location of the children one by one.

However, the enormous length of such a construction is in itself a great disadvantage, from which all the rest also hinder this model from becoming mass:

• in an attempt to shorten the elongated body, the designers placed the children too close to each other, so in the winter time, with warm hope, they will interfere with each other;
• a large length practically deprives the structure of stability during lateral rolling, and children are unlikely to behave quietly, especially when there are three of them at once;
• the small size of each place leads to the fact that the child can lie in it only for the first six months of his life, and then the triplets will have to walk only sitting;
• with such a stroller it is quite problematic to enter the elevator - in the absolute majority of cases it will not fit there.

In recent years, any items that can change their shape and purpose at the request of the owner, are becoming increasingly popular, because it is really convenient. As demand grows, manufacturers are trying to match as much as possible, because for several years now there is a transformer carriage on the market.

The advantages of acquiring such a stroller are as follows:

• the place of each child has its own frame, they are united only by the body, because the kids do not bother each other - they are protected from one another;
• the shape of the whole structure can change quite radically - children can be positioned both as a train and as a triangle, and in the second case, the third child is located, as it were, opposite the other two, but either lower or higher;
• such a stroller can be used literally from birth as a cradle, however, in the future it can easily be transformed into a stroller for grown-up offspring;
• the wheelbase of the transformer in width is no different from single wheelchairs, because with the correct location of the seats you can drive anywhere;
• if you need to put the stroller in a car or an elevator, it is enough to fold it so that it decreases significantly in size.

As is often the case, the pursuit of all the possibilities immediately leads to the fact that the final result has a considerable number of minuses:

• Many people mistakenly consider the transformer to be a very compact stroller due to the small width of the wheels, however, in fact, increased permeability is achieved precisely due to the possibilities of transformation, while the dimensions of the unfolded stroller are still very large;
• individual places because of the needs of transformation are still less spacious than the same “book” or “cane”, because children can only lie in the first six months of life, and then have to transfer the stroller to the walking mode;
• a compact transformer can be disassembled and then reassembled, however, it should not be folded, because it is worthwhile to think in advance where to store such a lump so as not to gather for each walk for too long.

The logic of the selection of the type of stroller seems quite simple, however, in practice, parents still forget at least one thing that must have been taken into account even before the purchase. For this reason, it is worth repeating which factors influence the choice of model.

• Nature of children - One of the main components of the successful selection of strollers. The more active the babies are, the more space they need for each one, and the more reliable their isolation from each other should be, otherwise bruises cannot be avoided.
• If the house has an elevator, it is advisable to choose a stroller that can fit in it, even in the unfolded form. According to this criterion, transformers are usually considered the most convenient, and "locomotives", respectively, are practically never placed in an elevator. If there is no elevator at all, you should choose a lighter stroller as possible - for example, massive “books” drop out immediately.
• The possibility of walking the children together always always somewhat reduces the demands on wheelchairs. If only one person is always walking, and even that is a woman, then the wheelchair must be easy and maneuverable, as well as sustainable - the “canes” are in the lead here, but they are not enough for the first six months of life.

• Transporting the stroller in the car requires a compact model when folded, and “trains” usually do not have this quality.Transformer can be disassembled, however, it takes extra time, because the "canes" and "books" look preferable.
• Even the season of birth of babies - and that matters when choosing a stroller. Transformers and locomotives have somewhat reduced places, so a child dressed in winter clothes may be cramped, and it is good if he does not interfere with his closest relatives. In the first six months, it is still possible to accommodate children in wheelchairs of this type, but for those born in spring or summer, this option is not suitable. "Book", on the contrary, not only provides enough space, but also reliably closes children from precipitation.
• Finally, the possibility of subsequent resale can also play a role. For such plans, it is worthwhile to choose a powerful, reliable stroller, but the transformer for this purpose does not fit very well, because a large number of pivoting, unfixed parts increases the risk of breakage.

Carts for triplets are not released too often - three children appear at the same time not in every family. The lineup is constantly updated, however, it cannot be said that parents will be able to see a wide range of such products. As of the spring of 2018, two models that can really be found in stores are the most successful in our country.

A stroller for a triplet would cost the family budget tens of thousands of rubles, and in fact the costs are far from over. Often, a triple stroller just cannot be found in stores, because in some cases parents can do without such transport. In another way to solve the problem in several ways.
