A blow to the wallet: fees to school caused financial difficulties for half of Russian parents
This year's traditional school fees have caused serious financial difficulties for 51% of parents. These are the survey data of the All-Russian Public Opinion Research Center. VTsIOM conducted a case study on the eve of September 1.
51% of the surveyed moms and dads said that it was difficult for them to financially bring a child to school, but the difficulties are completely solvable, but every fifth parent has more significant difficulties - they had to save money in advance or borrow from relatives and acquaintances.
However, sociologists took an interest not only in the financial condition of mothers and fathers, but in general found out the attitude of parents to the modern school.
It turned out that almost half of the respondents (45%) are confident that teachers are teaching children worse nowthan it was during the training of the parents themselves. A third of parents are ready to close their eyes to some shortcomings in the education system, if the teacher will be able to find an approach to each of the children in the class.
More than 72% of parents expressed confidence that they would have to hire tutors in order for the child to pass the USE with dignity and enter the university of their dreams.
Only 9% of respondents are satisfied with the quality of education in the country, and this is very small compared to similar surveys of previous years.
The study VTsIOM was attended by Russians with children of school age. Total polled 1200 parents.
