  • Syrup contains extracts of 10 plants, among which are extracts of nightshade, licorice, basil, ginger, turmeric and aloe. In addition, this drug includes levomenthol, and additional substances in this form of medicine are pineapple flavoring, sucrose, dyes, water, glycerol, and other compounds.
  • Base ointment are camphor, nutmeg oil, turpentine oil and levomenthol. The composition also includes thymol and eucalyptus oil, and the only auxiliary ingredient is white paraffin in soft form.
  • The main components of pastillesThe extracts from ginger, licorice and emblica, supplemented with levomenthol, act as their therapeutic effect. In addition, lollipops include glycerol, sucrose, various colorants, flavorings, and other ingredients.

Indications

The line Dr. Mom is in demand for diseases, one of the manifestations of which is a cough.The drugs are especially often prescribed for dry cough caused by bronchitis, tracheitis, laryngitis, pharyngitis, ARVI and other pathologies. Ointment is also prescribed from the common cold to get rid of nasal congestion. This form is also effective for muscle pain or headaches.

At what age is it allowed to take?

Syrup is allowed to apply in children older than 3 years. The same age limit is the use of ointment. Both drugs are allowed for children three years and older, but should be used with caution so as not to provoke an allergy.

The instructions for lozenges warns that this remedy should not be taken by children under 18 years of age. This is due to the presence of chemicals in the composition, the large size of the candies and the lack of clinical trials in children. but in practice, this form is often assigned to adolescents 14 years and older.

Contraindications

Dr. Mom's drugs are not given if:

  • The child has hypersensitivity to any ingredient of the medication.
  • A baby has hereditary pathologies in which carbohydrate metabolism is impaired (such a contraindication is relevant for syrup and lozenges).
  • A child has skin damage or skin diseases such as eczema or dermatitis (this is a contraindication to the use of ointment).

In addition, caution in the treatment of syrup requires the presence of diabetes mellitus in the child, and the ointment is not recommended for bronchial asthma.

Side effects

Since all Dr.Mom medications are based on natural ingredients, an allergic reaction may appear on any of them.
