Such funds are different combined composition and can be assigned not only to adults but also in childhood. They shorten the cough period of the disease, helping to quickly get rid of such an unpleasant symptom.
Release form and composition
The preparations "Codelac Broncho" are represented by two dosage forms. One of them is small round yellow cream tablets, which are sold in packs of 10 or 20 pieces. They contain several active components, among which are:
- Ambroxol in the form of hydrochloride - at a dose of 20 mg per tablet;
- sodium bicarbonate - in the amount of 200 mg in 1 tablet;
- glycyrrhizic acid obtained from licorice roots in the form of sodium glycyrrhizinate - in the amount of 30 mg per tablet;
- dry extract from thermopsis - at a dose of 10 mg per 1 tablet.
The inactive components of the pelletized “Codelac Broncho” are starch, microcrystalline cellulose, povidone, talc, carboxymethyl starch sodium and stearic acid.
The second form of the drug is liquid. It is called an elixir and is a brown liquid, which is usually clear, but with long-term storage may be with sediment. For the treatment of children produce small bottles of 100 ml, and for adolescents or adult patients, a larger package containing 200 ml of medicine is produced.
Every 5 milliliters of this elixir contains 10 mg of ambroxol and 30 mg of glycyrrhizic acid. However, the other two components present in the tablets in this form of the medicine are replaced by a liquid extract of thyme, which is marked on the package (the name includes the addition “with thyme”). Its dosage is 5 ml - 500 mg. Auxiliary components of such a “Codelac Broncho” are nipagin, sorbitol, nipazol and water.
Operating principle
All the Codelac Broncho components work together and reinforce each other’s properties. They immediately affect several factors that provoke unproductive and wet cough, as well as cause inflammation in the airways.
- First of all, the effect of the components of the drug is directed to the very sputum, which is formed in the respiratory tract. When taking pills and elixir, the mucus becomes less thick and viscous. Due to the change in its rheological properties, dilution and better slip, sputum is more easily excreted. This also contributes to the moderate antispasmodic effect of the drug, due to which the secret is actively evacuated even from those areas of the lungs where the bronchi are narrow and small.
- Secondly"Codelac Broncho" affects the inflammatory process in the walls of the bronchi. Under the influence of such drugs, the mucous membrane damaged by microorganisms and a strong cough quickly regenerates and heals.
- Thirdly, the ingredients of the elixir and tablets affect microbes and viruses. The antimicrobial properties of thyme are particularly pronounced: the flavonoids present in the extract of such a plant can destroy pathogenic cocci and slow down the reproduction of gram-negative bacteria.In addition, they affect pathogenic fungi. As for the antiviral effect, it is noted in glycyrrhizic acid.
Indications
Given the therapeutic effects of "Codelac Broncho", these drugs are used in the pathologies of the respiratory tract, when expectoration of sputum is difficult. Most often, the elixir and tablets are prescribed for bronchitis: both in the acute form of such a disease and in the chronic inflammatory process. In addition, such medications are used in the treatment of chronic obstruction, bronchiectasis, or pneumonia.
