How to make a diaper from a diaper?

Content

With the birth of a child, we are faced with previously unknown tasks. One of the very first is the use of diapers. While television broadcasts various diaper advertisements, where happy mothers do not think about choosing hygiene products, grandmothers and aunts run around us, insisting on the harm of frequent use of such advertised diapers.

Often the question arises about the material benefit when using disposable diapers instead of diapers, and the possible consequences for the delicate skin of the child. Therefore, many mothers begin to limit the use of factory diapers, seeing the first signs of prickly heat, irritation, traces of gum and begin to make diapers at home.

Do it yourself

Self-made diapers can be made for both disposable and reusable. The first is a cut of gauze in the form of a square or triangular, which, like factory diapers, is wrapped between the legs of a child. Reusable is made of fabric, more dense in its composition, of natural cotton material. Inside the panty put replaceable diaper from gauze. Such models are washed a couple of times a day, and one-time should be washed immediately after a single use.

Therefore, before you make a diaper, you need to think about how you plan to use it.

The disposable diaper is sewn from calico fabric, similar to gauze, but denser. Consider making it step by step.

  • We take a piece of fabric in the form of a square, with sides of 80 cm. For a hem, you can take a piece a couple of cm more. Overcast or stitch the edges of the fabric on a sewing machine, then fold the square in half. Put the fabric on the table fold down.
  • We take the right edge of the upper edge of the cut fabric, on the left - for the lower edge, then the upper edge gently sip to the right, and the bottom is transferred to the middle of the upper line, building a similar way triangle. Turn the triangle on the opposite side and fold it towards the center. It should make a small overlap of the fabric in the center of the diaper. Then you can sew the resulting seal to the base, saving a lot of time for folding the fabric with further use.
  • To put on this diaper, you need to put the resulting kerchief angle down, put the child and put the bottom edge of the scarf on his tummy. Then we take the remaining ends from the side and twist them inside, trying not to create discomfort in the abdomen of the baby. You can hem to the edges of the velcro to make it easier to fasten the diaper.

It is also easy to make a reusable diaper by yourself, as the technique can be used the same as in the manufacture of disposable gauze diapers. You can change the way. The difference is the use of a denser fabric, the fabric from the previously used bed linen is perfect, as it will be soft enough for the delicate skin of the baby. Also used soft cotton material, cotton or calico.

In the manufacture of reusable products in the manner described above, we do the same, only use thick fabric. This method is not recommended for newborns due to the density of the fabric, the inconvenience of putting on panties, but if we install the Velcro, they will become more comfortable.In the center, a similar pocket is sewn inside using a waterproof material (soft oilcloth), thereby preventing possible leakage.

Then we make gauze tabs, they will need to be replaced after every soaking. It is recommended to prepare 10-15 such liners. Gauze we fold so that we get about five layers, stitch on the sides. Our reusable diapers are almost ready. The final touch will be attaching buttons on the sides of the product. The sides of the diapers will be securely fastened, they will not be undone with the active movements of the baby.

The following method of making a diaper can be used if you wrap the diaper with a head scarf. We take a piece of fabric 90 cm by 90 cm. We fold the fabric straight, then we lay it diagonally. We put the baby and the free end skip the baby between the legs. From the ends on the sides we make a belt by tying the ends of the fabric in small knots. Velcro can also be used. So you can highlight the following benefits of using reusable gauze diapers:

  • gauze will protect the child's skin from irritation, rubbing the skin, while it is worth highlighting its environmental friendliness;
  • Since the liners change frequently, the bowel movements do not come into contact with the sensitive skin of the baby, the sterility of the product is ensured;
  • saving money;
  • does not require great effort to manufacture, fold and sew such products simply enough, and the material can always be found at hand;
  • in gauze there are no excessive flavors;
  • gauze products are safe for the environment.

The disadvantage is the rapid wetting of the products, but with proper care, parents should simply check more often to see if the child does not defecate, thereby eliminating his discomfort in time.
