Release form and composition

"Vormin" is presented only in tablet form, contains as active substance 100 mg of mebendazole in each tablet. Auxiliary components of the drug include sodium lauryl sulfate and purified talc, as well as gelatin, magnesium stearate, calcium hydrogen phosphate and corn starch.

Thanks to these components, the tablets have a dense structure and a round shape. Vanilla scent and orange color are given to the drug by yellow dye, orange flavoring and vanillin. Tablets are packed in blisters of 2, 3 or 6 pieces and sold from 2 to 24 tablets in one pack.

Operating principle

The active ingredient "Vormina" is able to affect different types of worms, disrupting carbohydrate metabolism, ATP synthesis and other important substances, which leads to their death. The drug helps to destroy pinworms, roundworm, necator, bovine tapeworm, strongyloids, trichinella, echinococcus, hookworm and other worms. At the same time, the medicine is almost not absorbed in the intestines (90% of mebendazole leaves the digestive tract unchanged).

Indications

"Vormin" is used for many types of helminth infection, for example, for:

  • enterobiasis;
  • tenioze;
  • hookworm;
  • ascariasis;
  • capillariasis;
  • trichocephalosis;
  • trichinosis;
  • strongyloidiasis;
  • echinococcosis.

Side effects

Overdose

Too large a dose of "Vormina" leads to nausea, loose stools, abdominal pain, and vomiting. If an overdose of the drug is prolonged, it impairs the function of the liver and worsens the blood test. There is no antidote to mebendazole, therefore, in the event of an acute overdose, they induce vomiting, give a sorbent and prescribe symptomatic treatment.

Drug interaction

Giving children along with "Vormin" laxative is not necessary. The drug is not prescribed together with drugs based on carbamazepine, metronidazole, phenytoin and some other active substances. Incompatible with "Vormina" drugs are marked in the paper instructions to the tablets.
