Nazaval Plus for children: instructions for use

Content

Each mother seeks to protect children from SARS and flu in the period when the incidence of such infections is increasing. Both proven methods and new developments, which are now quite a lot in the pharmaceutical market, are used in the course of years. Among the modern tools for the prevention of acute respiratory infections stands out drug called "Nazaval Plus."

It belongs to the barrier means, that is, it does not allow the penetration of pathogenic viruses into the organism. In addition, the composition of this medication contains only natural substances. But before using this drug in children, it is worth learning more about its effect, proper use and possible harm.

Special features

Nazaval Plus is produced in Switzerland in the form of a powder placed in a plastic bottle with a special dosing device. One vial contains 200 doses of medication containing 500 mg of active ingredients each. Such a powder has a white color and an unexpressed mint smell.

As in the medicine called Nazaval, the main active ingredient of Nazaval Plus is crushed (micronized) cellulose derived from plants. However, unlike the usual “Nazaval”, the composition of the product labeled “Plus” also includes an extract of wild garlic, and the auxiliary ingredient of this medicine is a natural extract of peppermint.

Operating principle

The natural cellulose present in Nazaval Plus together with garlic extract after contact with the mucosa creates a natural barrier that does not interfere with breathing, but prevents attacks of bacteria and viruses. The formation of such a transparent gel-like protective film effectively protects the children's body from colds and colds. The garlic extract also has an antiseptic effect, thanks to which Nazaval Plus can neutralize pathogens that have fallen on the nasopharyngeal mucosa.

Indications

The drug is prescribed as a prophylactic agent that prevents the development of colds and ARVI (including influenza infection). It is used by:

  • before traveling in public transport;
  • if the child goes to a place where there will be a lot of people, for example, to the store;
  • after contact with a sick flu or cold;
  • with the development of ARVI in a family member;
  • in the morning before school or kindergarten.

From what age is prescribed?

The drug is not contraindicated in children and after consultation with the doctor can be used even in infants. In order for the medicine to have the expected effect, its introduction into the nasal passages in children must be controlled by adults.

Contraindications

You cannot use Nazavale Plus in such cases:

  • if the child has hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients of the powder;
  • if your baby has an allergy to garlic;
  • if a small patient is prone to frequent bleeding from the nose.

Side effects

Since the active substances of Nazaval Plus are not absorbed through the mucous membrane and do not enter the blood, the drug does not cause any side effects from the internal organs. The only rare negative effect of the powder is an allergic reaction, due to which the drug is immediately canceled.

Instructions for use

If the child has had contact with a sick person, or he will have to visit a place where there will be many people (in a shop, clinic, etc.), then the spray is applied once. The drug is sprayed 10-15 minutes before the intended contact with the virus or immediately after it.

In the event of an adverse epidemic situation, the agent is prescribed for as many days as there is a risk of infection. In this case, it is used daily, one injection every five to six hours, that is, three times or four times a day.

When the drug is used for the first time, you should press the sprayer two times and wait for the trickle of powder to appear. Before each use of Nazaval Plus, the patient’s nasal cavity is recommended to be cleaned of mucus and contamination. It is not necessary to throw back the head when injecting a means - the child should hold it straight.

After shaking the bottle, you need to hold one nostril of a small patient with your finger. Next, enter the vial spout in the open nasal passage and press firmly on the walls of the bottle so that the powder falls into the nasal cavity. Then the same actions need to be carried out for the second nasal passage. So that the child doesn’t sneeze immediately after spraying the medication and the particles remain in the nose, you can hold the baby’s nose with your fingers for a few seconds.

It is undesirable to touch the mucosa with the vial so that the powder does not block the opening. If the spray nozzle is still clogged, it can be cleaned with a toothpick or other sharp object.

If "Nazaval Plus" is prescribed together with other drugs that are injected or dripped into the nose, then it should be used 30 minutes after treatment with other drugs. At the same time, after smearing the nasal passages with ointments or after applying oil drops, the treatment with Nazavalem Plus is not recommended.

Terms of sale and storage

You do not need to get a prescription from a doctor to buy Nazaval Plus at the pharmacy, but an examination of the child is desirable. The price of one bottle varies from 350 to 480 rubles. Shelf life of the drug is 3 years, but after the first use of the powder, it is reduced to six months.

Keep the drug should be hidden from the kids place at room temperature.

Reviews

Most reviews of the Nazaval Plus are positive. One of the main advantages of the drug is its natural composition, because there are no preservatives, dyes and other harmful substances in this spray. Also, moms praise him for safety, the ability to use at any age and no side effects. The disadvantages of the spray most often include the high cost and short shelf life (many mothers complain that all doses are not spent for six months and the medicine has to be thrown away).

Analogs

If you need to replace Nazaval Plus with an analogue with a similar effect on the body, doctors often resort to saline solutions in the form of drops or sprays, for example, they prescribe Aqua-Maris, Humer, Otrivin Baby or Marimer. The basis of such funds is sea water or saline. Due to the frequent irrigation of the mucous membrane during the epidemic, these drugs prevent drying and help wash away viral particles or pathogenic bacteria.

Another popular agent that forms a barrier for viruses is the Oxolin ointment. It is applied to the mucous membrane before leaving the house to protect children from pathogens during the epidemic. However, this drug is contraindicated in infants. It can be used from the age of two, not only for prevention, but also in the treatment of rhinitis, conjunctivitis or stomatitis.
