No-shpa at a child's temperature
Often, by raising the temperature of the body, the child’s body is protected from viruses or bacteria. And therefore, a fever up to +38 degrees is usually not recommended to be “shot down”. If the figure on the thermometer is much higher, resort to antipyretic drugs, for example, give the baby Paracetamol or Nurofen.
But sometimes you have to use several medications at once. Such a mixture of drugs, called lytic or “triad”, effectively and quickly helps with very high and dangerous for health temperature. One of its ingredients may be No-shpa. Why is such a medicine included in the composition of the lytic mixture and in what dose is used for fever in children?
What form is it produced?
No-shpa presented in pharmacies in two forms - solid (these are tablets of yellow color with a green or orange shade, round shape) and liquid (this is the same color transparent solution that is injected into a muscle tissue or vein). Tableted No-shpu is packed in blisters or plastic jars and sell from 6 to 100 pieces in one package. The injection form is represented by 2 ml ampoules, which are placed in pallets and are produced in 5-25 ampoules in one box.
Does children apply?
Although the abstract of No-spe in tablets contains in contraindications the age of up to 6 years, and in the instructions attached to the ampoules it is noted that such a medicine is not used in childhood, but they are given at a temperature of children over 1 year of age. At the same time, the advisability of using such a medicine and including it in the “triad” should be determined by the doctor.
In addition to high temperature, indications for use of no-shpy in children are:
- Spasms in the bladder or cystitis.
- Biliary colic, inflammation of the gallbladder, cholangitis or other diseases of the biliary tract.
- Headache.
- Intestinal colic, enteritis and other bowel pathologies.
- Toothache.
- Gastritis or another stomach disease.
- Spastic constipation.
- Dry cough.
Why and when used at temperature?
Influencing the vessels of the extremities, No-shpa eliminates their spasm, as a result of which they expand. This leads to increased blood supply and heat transfer, which is especially important if the child has a so-called “white” fever. This increase in temperature is manifested by pallor of the skin, the child is lethargic, and his hands and feet are cool to the touch. With this type of fever, No-shpa effectively eliminates spasm, due to which the patient's condition improves quickly and the temperature drops.
The drug can be used at a temperature and in such cases:
- If the thermometer figure over +39 degrees.
- If the child does not tolerate fever.
- If there is a high risk of seizures (febrile).
However, it is important to note that the No-Spa is never the only medicine given to a child with a fever.
This drug has no antipyretic effect, so if it was decided to use it in a child with hyperthermia, it is only in combination with one of the nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.
What medication does it have for fever?
In addition to No-shpy in lytic mixture includes:
- Febrifugewhich is most often represented Analginom. It can also be replaced with ibuprofen preparations or paracetamol-based drugs. This component of the “triad” reduces the temperature and has an analgesic effect.
- Antihistamine, which is usually used as Suprastin or Diphenhydramine. This drug is added to the lytic mixture to eliminate edema, hypnotic and sedative effects, as well as to reduce the risk of an allergic reaction. It can also be used for sedative and antispasmodic action. Corvalol.
Such medications are prescribed in the form of injections and tablets.
Danger and contraindications
But silos along with other drugs are not used at a temperature if:
- The child discovered intolerance to any of the ingredients of such funds.
- The baby revealed a violation of blood formation.
- A small patient has serious liver disease.
- The child began bronchospasm.
- The kid has developed renal failure.
- The child has low blood pressure.
It is not advised to give pills or prick "triad" and with severe pain in the abdomen, because they can signal dangerous surgical diseases, for example, appendicitis. When combining such pains and fever, you should first call a doctor to determine the cause of these symptoms. If you hesitate and treat your baby at home on your own, in such a situation serious complications may develop that pose a danger to the life of the little patient.
No-shpa is mostly well tolerated, but in rare cases it can cause allergies, lower blood pressure, nausea, constipation, insomnia, headache and other symptoms. If after using the medication at least one of these side effects has occurred, you should immediately inform your doctor.
As for overdose, the excess dose of No-shpy represents a danger to the patient's cardiovascular system.
If you accidentally give a child a higher dosage, it will worsen conductivity and disrupt the rhythm of heart contractions, and sometimes can trigger heart failure.
That is why the dose of medication should always be checked with the doctor, and if an overdose occurred, you should immediately call an ambulance.
