Colorless means of chickenpox
Chickenpox is a contagious childhood disease, the main symptom of which is a very itchy rash. And therefore, in treating chicken pox, great importance is attached to skin treatment. For her, use drugs that protect the wounds from infection, accelerate their healing, as well as relieve itching.
If earlier the chickenpox vesicles were treated mainly with brilliant green, sometimes replacing this bright green antiseptic with a more aesthetic pink fucorzin, now colorless products have been developed and are more often used. They do not pollute clothes and underwear, are easily washed off and look on the skin of the baby is not as frightening as green specks. What drugs can be called "colorless Zelenka" and why are they used to treat chickenpox?
Colorless fluids for treating rashes
Rash in patients with chickenpox can be lubricated by such liquid means:
- Lotion Calamine. This preparation contains the mineral calamine and zinc oxide, thanks to which it helps to get rid of itching, cool and dry the skin a little, as well as protect the bubbles from the penetration of bacteria.
- Salicylic alcohol. Treatment with this medicine helps to dry the vesicles and accelerate the regeneration processes in the skin.
- Suspension Zindol. This drug, based on zinc oxide, effectively relieves itching, provides drying and faster healing of bubbles. It is inexpensive, so it is in great demand among parents.
- Tea tree oil. Treatment with such a tool will protect the skin affected by chickenpox from bacteria and reduce the severity of the inflammatory process.
- A solution of potassium permanganate. This tool is made from potassium permanganate crystals, carefully mixing them in water until a pale pink liquid is formed. With a solution smear bubbles for antiseptic action.
- Baking soda solution. Mixing soda with warm water, treat the inflamed skin to relieve itching and dry the rash.
- Hydrogen peroxide. Processing such a colorless antiseptic helps prevent vesicle infection.
Such drugs are applied mainly to a point, using cotton swabs. If you want to lubricate immediately a large area of skin, it is convenient to use cotton wool for applying.
Chicken ointments and creams
Processing of chickenpox eruptions can be carried out using such means:
- Gel Fenistil. This drug from the group of antihistamines quickly reduces itching, soothes the skin and eliminates its swelling.
- Zinc ointment. This medicine dries and disinfects the skin with bubbles.
- Cream Calamine. The tool is similar to a liquid form, so it does well with itching, and also protects the skin from pathogens.
- Ointment Acyclovir. This antiviral drug inhibits the reproduction of the pathogen of chickenpox, so that the rash heals faster.
- Gel Poxcline. The basis of this tool is aloe vera extract, so the drug effectively relieves inflammation, reduces swelling of the skin and eliminates itching.
- Gel Viferon. Such a drug based on interferon has an antiviral effect, and also has an immunomodulatory effect.
What can be used in infants?
Chickenpox often develops in children older than one year, since infants in the first months of life are under the protection of mother's antibodies (if the mother had chickenpox in childhood), and also have little contact with other children. However, chickenpox in infants older than 6 months is found.
For the treatment of bubbles in these babies, it is permitted to use such colorless agents:
- Calamine.
- Tsindol.
- Viferon.
- Fenistil (from 1 month).
Can I not treat the skin
Using local remedies for chickenpox is not a prerequisite for treating such an infection. If you follow the hygiene (bathe baby several times a day, change clothes, wash hands) and prevent the scratching of the bubbles, the chickenpox rash will heal completely without any treatment. However, if the rash is very itchy and causes the baby great discomfort, or there is a high risk of infection in the wounds, skin treatment is desirable, because it will help alleviate the condition of the baby and prevent bacterial complications.
