Pentovit for children
Pentovit refers to multivitamin drugs, because this drug contains five important for human vitamin compounds, which causes the name of such a drug. Is it prescribed in childhood and for which diseases it is used?
Release form and composition
Pentovit is made by several Russian companies and is represented only by tablets, which have a dense white shell. They are sold in packs from 10 to 100 pieces (in blisters or in plastic jars), have a specific smell and have a round shape.
The basis of the drug are vitamins, which are included in group B:
- thiamine hydrochloride - at a dose of 10 mg per 1 tablet;
- Nicotinamide - in the amount of 20 mg per pill;
- cyanocobalamin - 50 µg per tablet;
- pyridoxine hydrochloride - at a dose of 5 mg per tablet;
- folic acid - 400 µg per 1 tablet.
Additionally, the drug includes starch, sucrose, beeswax, gelatin, methylcellulose and other substances. They impart a density to the core of the tablet, in which the vitamins are found, and also cover the base of the drug with a white film.
Operating principle
The vitamins that make up Pentovit are very important for the nervous system. They affect the functional state of both the peripheral nerves and the brain:
- Thiamine regulates the conduction of nerve impulses and the synthesis of acetylcholine.
- Pyridoxine is important for metabolic processes and is necessary for the formation of neurotransmitters.
- Vitamin B 12 not only affects the nervous system and liver, but also stimulates the synthesis of blood cells, the metabolism of fats, amino acids and carbohydrates.
- Nicotinamide is also necessary for normal metabolism.
- Without folic acid, the formation of erythrocytes, amino acids and nucleic acids is impaired.
Indications
